3D Typography is a book jacket and a publication design for 3D Typography, by Jeanette Abbink and Emily CM Anderson. The idea behind this design was to show three dimensional typography using hand made letters featured in a outsized book. For this project, the goal was to show a strong impact and contrast within the backgrounds and display type of 3D Typography. The typeface which the letters are formed is Helvetica Neue Bold to give this blocky appearance. The letters were made from exposed cardboard, and were formed together using newspapers, paper mache process, and emphasizing typography. After the paper mache is dry, the letters were painted white to stand out against a graffiti wall background. In addition to the book jacket, the interior introduction spreads were also redesigned.
